LA 27 and LA 108 $4.9 Million Overlay Project to begin March 16 Near Sulphur

Calcasieu Parish – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) announced on March 11, 2022, that beginning March 16, 2022, construction will begin on a $4.9 million overlay project on a 4.99-mile section of LA 27 and LA 108 from LA 1256 to Interstate 10 in Calcasieu Parish.

Milling, patching, resurfacing, and other related work will be performed as part of the project.

Weather permitting, work is expected to take place Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Throughout the work zone, the road will be reduced to one lane in each direction. In addition, the road will be open to regular traffic, with oversized loads passing through the work zone restricted to a 12-foot maximum lane width.

Motorists traveling through this area should expect some delays. Although LADOTD indicated that there is no need for a detour, some drivers may want to plan an alternate route.

This area will be accessible to emergency vehicles.

The project is expected to be completed in the fall of 2022.
