K-9 Officer in Louisiana Locates Suspect After She Allegedly Provided False Name and Fled During Traffic Stop
Shreveport, Louisiana – A K-9 officer in Louisiana located a suspect after she allegedly provided a false name and fled during a traffic stop.
The Shreveport Police Department stated on April 24, 2023, that on April 21, around 10:30 p.m., Shreveport, Police Community Response Unit Members performed a traffic stop in the 200 block of Clyde Fant Memorial Parkway. Officers detained a female during the traffic stop after she allegedly provided a false name and fled on foot.
Officers on the scene pursued the suspect into a wooded area. Shreveport Police K-9 “Enzo” was dispatched to the location to locate the suspect.
K9 Enzo discovered suspect Bridgette Wood, 37, hidden in a wooded location near the river after several minutes of searching.
Wood was arrested and charged with one count of simple escape and one count of resisting arrest, and an outstanding warrant for possession of Schedule two narcotics were discovered. Wood was treated for minor injuries and taken to a nearby hospital.
An arrest is an indication that probable cause exists to believe the subject was involved in the offense alleged. A person is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
