Sulphur, Louisiana – A tragic incident involving an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) in Sulphur, Louisiana, has claimed the life of an 11-year-old passenger. On October 14, at approximately 11:00 a.m., deputies from the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office (CPSO) responded to a call in the 900 block of Armentor Road, where an ATV had tipped over.

According to the preliminary investigation, two juveniles were operating a Polaris RZR when the vehicle lost balance, partially ejecting the 11-year-old passenger. Deputies quickly administered life-saving measures before the child was transported to a local hospital. Unfortunately, the child succumbed to the injuries sustained in the incident and was pronounced dead.

The driver of the ATV, also a juvenile, escaped the incident without physical harm. The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office has launched an investigation into the incident, with Detective Lauren Manuel leading the case. While the investigation is ongoing, authorities do not suspect foul play or criminal activity, and the death appears to be an unfortunate accident.
