July 2nd DWI Checkpoint Results Released by Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office

The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office conducted a DWI checkpoint on Friday, July 2, 2021, in the 600 block of North Perkins Ferry Road in Moss Bluff. The checkpoint was to target individuals who may be under the influence of alcohol or narcotics.

During the checkpoint, CPSO checked 462 vehicles, administering five field sobriety tests. Four citations were issued for no seatbelt; one citation was issued for no child restraint; one citation was issued for driving under suspension; one citation was issued for no driver’s license; eight citations were issued for expired motor vehicle inspection stickers; and one citation was issued for open container.

The following individuals were booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center:

  • Brandon A. Duplantis, 42, Bourg, LA, arrested for DWI, possession of CDS II, and possession of drug paraphernalia
  • Elexis N. Brown, 26, Abbeville, LA, arrested for possession of CDS I, and possession of CDS II

The following individuals were issued a signed summons and released:

  • Cullen B. Harrell, 39, Lake Charles, arrested for DWI, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia
  • Ashley N. Francis, 25, Lake Charles, arrested for possession of marijuana
  • Rosalind M. Taylor, 44, Lake Charles, arrested for possession of marijuana

Participating in the checkpoint was the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office and Louisiana State Police Troop D.
