Lake Charles, Louisiana - The City of Lake Charles is set to host a vibrant Art in the Park event on Saturday, July 27, 2024, from 9 to 11 a.m. The July installment, part of the ongoing Partners in Parks Initiative, will take place at the I-10 North Beach.
Participants of all ages are invited to immerse themselves in creativity as they paint on canvas, explore the art of sand sculpture, and engage in sandcastle making. In addition to artistic endeavors, attendees will be entertained by a DJ, providing music that complements the festive atmosphere. There will also be opportunities for fun games and chances to win prizes throughout the morning.
To ensure a refreshing experience in the summer heat, the City of Lake Charles Recreation staff will distribute complimentary sno cones. Participants are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs and umbrellas to enhance their comfort while enjoying the activities.
Art instruction will be provided by artists currently in residence at the Imperial Calcasieu Museum. The City will supply all necessary art materials, including easels and painting supplies, through the Partners in Parks Initiative. Additionally, Lake Charles Coca-Cola is collaborating with the City to offer refreshing beverages to all artists, ensuring that everyone remains energized and hydrated during the event.
This free gathering is open to the public, making it an excellent opportunity for families and art enthusiasts alike to come together and celebrate creativity in a beautiful outdoor setting.
