Jennings Man Dies in Fatal ATV Crash on Elton Drive, Louisiana State Police Investigating

Jennings, Louisiana - Louisiana State Police Troop D arrived at the scene of a solo ATV crash on Elton Drive near Koll Road in Jefferson Davis Parish at around 3:45 a.m. on March 17, 2024. Tragically, the crash resulted in the death of Terry L. LeJeune, a 57-year-old resident of Jennings, Louisiana.

At the beginning of the investigation, it was discovered that LeJeune was driving a 2012 Honda FourTrax Rancher south on Koll Road. LeJeune inexplicably lost control of the ATV, causing it to overturn and throwing LeJeune from the vehicle.

LeJeune experienced severe injuries from the crash and was taken to a local hospital for medical care.

Troop D received notification at around 4:41 p.m. that LeJeune had passed away from his injuries.

Louisiana State Police is reminding the public that it is against the law to use go-karts, ATVs, and UTVs on roads unless it is for agricultural purposes or other specific duties stated in Louisiana Revised Statue 32:299. 

So far in 2024, Troop D has investigated two fatal crashes that led to the deaths of two individuals.
