Iowa, Louisiana - An Iowa woman has been arrested after Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office detectives say she exchanged sexually explicit text messages with a minor under the age of 16.

According to the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office (CPSO), Special Victims Unit detectives received a report on February 6 regarding possible indecent behavior involving a juvenile. The case was assigned to CPSO Detective Sonny Schiro as the lead investigator.

During the initial investigation, detectives learned that the suspect, identified as Erin E. Guidry, 39, of Iowa, Louisiana, had been sending text messages to the victim. Authorities say some of those messages were sexual in nature.

After further investigation, detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Guidry on February 11. She was located the following day, taken into custody, and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center.

Guidry is charged with indecent behavior with juveniles, a Louisiana criminal offense that involves sexual conduct or communications with someone under the age of 17. CPSO reports that Judge Tony Fazzio set her bond at $150,000.

No additional details about the victim, including age or relationship to the suspect, have been released, in keeping with policies designed to protect the identities and privacy of juveniles involved in sensitive cases.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing under the direction of Detective Schiro and the CPSO Special Victims Unit.

All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
