Iowa, Louisiana to Receive More Than $100k GUMBO Grant for Communications Infrastructure Enhancements
Iowa, Louisiana – The Calcasieu Parish Police Jury announced on September 2, 2022, that District 9 CPPJ Juror Anthony Bartie, as well as parish staff, recently attended the Broadband Solutions Summit in Alexandria, Louisiana. At the summit, Louisiana Governor Joh Bel Edwards announced a $104,522 GUMBO grant to Brightspeed, the newly formed successor to CenturyLink, to be used for fiber infrastructure enhancements in the Iowa, Louisiana area.
The project’s overall cost is anticipated to be $387,118, and it will benefit over 100 households and businesses. It is a component of the ConnectLA Program’s Phase II.
