Jefferson Davis Parish, Louisiana – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development has recently announced that Interstate 10, both Eastbound and Westbound near the US 165 interchange, will undergo nightly lane closures from Mile Post 43 to Mile Post 47. These closures will be in effect starting Monday, November 27, 2023, and will last until Wednesday, November 29, 2023. The closures will be enforced between the hours of 7 p.m. and 5 a.m.

The closure schedule for these nightly lane closures is as follows:

  • I-10 Westbound: The right lane will be closed from Mile Marker 47 to Exit 44 on November 27, 28, and 29.
  • I-10 Eastbound: The left lane will be closed from Mile Marker 43 to Mile Marker 45 on November 27, 28, and 29.

The purpose of these closures is to facilitate the setting of concrete girders for the new I-10 Westbound bridge.

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development has emphasized the need for these closures to ensure the safety of both the construction crews and the traveling public. Motorists are advised to plan their journeys accordingly and to exercise caution while driving through the affected area during the closure hours.

This construction project is part of the ongoing efforts by the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development to enhance the infrastructure and improve the transportation system in the state. The new I-10 Westbound bridge is expected to provide increased efficiency and safety for motorists traveling along this important corridor.

As always, the safety of construction workers and the traveling public remains a top priority. The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development urges all motorists to adhere to the posted speed limits, exercise caution in work zones, and be mindful of the temporary traffic patterns during these nightly lane closures on Interstate 10.
