Impaired Driver Crashes Into Louisiana State Police Building

Published December 30, 2019

From Louisiana State Police –  On the morning of December 29, 2019, Troopers saw firsthand that no one is immune to the effects of driving while impaired. Shortly before 5:00 am, a 2007 Ford Fusion, driven by 50 yr old Felicia Payne of Alexandria, left the roadway and struck an exterior wall of Louisiana State Police Troop E.

The impact caused significant damage to the exterior wall and interior offices. Troopers placed Payne under arrest after she submitted to a breath alcohol test registering over the legal limit. No injuries occurred in the incident. The Alexandria Police Department is handling the crash investigation.

Whether impaired through alcohol or drugs, the danger remains the same when behind the wheel. With numerous options available for a safe ride home, there is no excuse for impaired driving in our communities. Making the right choice can often mean the difference between life and death.
