Identity of Louisiana Man Struck by Train in Beauregard Parish Released
Beauregard Parish, Louisiana – A body was found on the railroad tracks in Merryville, Louisiana, on December 10. The deceased has been identified, and the investigation is ongoing.
On December 12, 2022, the Beauregard Parish Sheriff’s Office stated that on December 10, at around 5:46 a.m., a local railway company employee notified them that a body was located west of Merryville on the railroad tracks. Upon arrival, deputies discovered the deceased, which was eventually identified as Derek Galloway of Merryville, Louisiana.
According to investigators, it appeared as though Galloway was struck by a train that had previously passed through the area. Currently, the investigation is ongoing and awaiting medical reports.
