Westlake, Louisiana – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) has announced a scheduled right lane closure at the Interstate 210 westbound (WB) exit ramp leading to Interstate 10 westbound on Thursday, May 15, 2025. The closure will be in effect from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., weather permitting.

Despite the closure of the right lane, DOTD officials confirmed the exit ramp itself will remain open to traffic throughout the maintenance window. Drivers are advised to exercise caution and be alert for work crews and equipment in the area.

Maintenance and Safety Efforts

The lane closure is necessary to allow crews to safely carry out important maintenance activities. These include the removal of overgrown vegetation and debris, which can obstruct visibility and pose risks to motorists. In addition, workers will repair and remove damaged railings along the ramp.

Impact on Drivers

Although the exit ramp will remain accessible, the right lane closure is expected to cause minor congestion. Motorists are encouraged to plan accordingly, allow extra travel time, and consider alternate routes if possible. DOTD also reminds drivers to reduce speed and be mindful of workers when passing through the work zone.
