Lake Charles, Louisiana – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development will close the left lane of Interstate 210 Eastbound in Lake Charles on Friday, November 21, 2025, as crews install equipment for new bridge lighting systems.
The closure will affect the eastbound lanes from Mile Marker 1 to Exit 3 and will remain in effect from 6 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. During the nine-and-a-half-hour work period, motorists can expect reduced lane availability on this section of the interstate.
An 11-foot width restriction will be enforced throughout the closure, which may affect larger commercial vehicles and oversized loads traveling through the area. The restriction refers to the maximum height or width vehicles can have while passing through the work zone safely.
The closure is to allow crews to install equipment related to the new lighting recently installed on and near the I-210 Bridge.
Motorists who regularly use Interstate 210 Eastbound during morning and early afternoon hours should plan for potential delays or consider alternate routes if possible.
Weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances could result in schedule changes.
