The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announces the I-210 westbound lanes on the Prien Lake Bridge near Lake Charles will reopen temporarily from Wednesday, December 11 to Sunday, December 15. Westbound will return to one lane on Monday, December 16. Nighttime closures in both directions may still occur, as needed.

The I-210 project is nearing completion and crews will continue to work on electrical for the new roadway lighting and performing punch list items.

The contractor has completed the re-decking of the main span, the installation of roadway and bridge lighting, the installation of the permanent inspection walkways, and the retrofitting of the new barrier rail system.

The entire project is expected to be completed ahead of schedule with anticipated completion by the end of the year. All work is weather dependent.

“An early completion of the I-210 project is a testament to this administration’s commitment to maintaining our infrastructure through innovation and competitiveness,” said Secretary Shawn Wilson, Ph.D. “I appreciate the patience of the region and local government during this necessary project. We were able to complete this improvement ahead of schedule and are looking forward to a full and permanent opening soon.”
