Lake Charles, Louisiana – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) has announced an upcoming roadwork project that will result in an alternating and intermittent lane closure on I-10 Westbound in Lake Charles. The closure will affect both the left and right lanes and will take place from Sunday, December 10, 2023, at 8:00 PM to Monday, December 11, 2023, at 5:00 AM.
This roadwork is necessary to improve the safety and functionality of the roadway, and motorists are advised to plan their travel accordingly. The closure is expected to cause delays and increased congestion in the area, so drivers are encouraged to seek alternate routes or allow extra time for their journeys.
The affected section of I-10 Westbound begins at the US 171 Interchange and ends at the LA 378 exit.
The alternating and intermittent lane closure will allow construction crews to carry out essential maintenance and repair work, ensuring that the road remains in a safe condition for all users.
