West Baton Rouge Parish, Louisiana – A multi-vehicle crash involving four overturned 18-wheelers and a passenger car brought traffic to a standstill on Interstate 10 westbound at LA 415 in West Baton Rouge Parish for several hours. The incident, which occurred earlier today, scattered approximately 40,000 pounds of candles across the westbound lanes, forcing authorities to divert traffic to LA Hwy 415 north to US Hwy 190 west.

According to Louisiana State Troopers, the crash required a massive cleanup effort, with the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) workers, heavy-duty wreckers, and a dedicated cleanup crew working tirelessly to reopen the roadway. The troopers expressed their gratitude to all those involved in the effort, stating that their diligent work was instrumental in getting the highway back open.

The spill of candles, while unusual, added an extra layer of complexity to the cleanup operation, requiring specialized equipment and expertise to safely remove the debris.

No serious injuries or fatalities were reported by LSP at the time this was published, and the highway has since reopened to traffic.
