I-10 West Closed Near US 171 in Lake Charles Due to Overturned Tractor-Trailer

Lake Charles Police Department reported that the I-10 westbound near US 171 will be closed for an unknown amount. It was previously reported that the closure would last approximately 6 hours.

Lake Charles Police Department and Louisiana DOTD have announced that I-10 westbound is now closed at US 171 (Martin Luther King Highway) in Lake Charles due to an overturned tractor-trailer. The crash happened at approximately 4:35 pm and the roadway is not expected to reopen until approximately 10:35 pm.
As of 5 pm congestion had reached I-210 (Exit 34). Motorists are being diverted from I-10 West onto US 171.
