Vinton, Louisiana - The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development has announced that I-10 Eastbound and Westbound lanes will experience alternating lane closures from Exit 8 (Mile Marker 8) to Mile Marker 11. The closures are scheduled to take place from 6 p.m. on Monday, October 14, 2024, until 6 p.m. on Tuesday, October 15, 2024.

The lane closures are necessary to facilitate milling and asphalt installation, which are critical components of road maintenance. Milling involves the removal of the top layer of asphalt to ensure a smooth surface, while asphalt installation provides a durable and long-lasting road surface.

Motorists traveling on I-10 Eastbound and Westbound during the specified time frame can expect delays and disruptions. The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises drivers to plan their routes in advance and allow for extra time to reach their destinations. It is also recommended that drivers exercise caution when navigating through the construction zone, as lane closures and reduced speeds can increase the risk of incidents.
