I-10 Eastbound Traffic Shift Near LA 108 in Sulphur September 7

Published September 7, 2021

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development announced that motorists can expect a traffic shift on I-10 eastbound near the LA 108 interchange in Sulphur, on Tuesday, September 7, 2021.

The I-10 eastbound travel lanes will shift to the newly constructed lanes on the mainline and will return to three lanes of traffic for the majority of the work zone in between LA 108 and the I-210 interchange in Sulphur. In this new phase, the right lanes in advance of the LA 108 and I-210 interchanges will be exit only. The through lane on the eastbound service road at LA 108 will be closed for construction access.

Alternating lane closures on I-10 eastbound from LA 108 to I-210 will be required to stripe the new lanes. Closure of the on-ramp from LA 108 to I-10 EB will also be closed and detour signs will be in place redirecting traffic. Lane closures will occur tonight, September 7 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
Work continues on the median barrier, milling, overlay, guardrail, and drainage. The contractor has completed the replacement of both Maple Fork Bridges and the widening of the mainline.

All dates and activities are weather-dependent. The entire project is expected to be complete in fall 2021.

DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with extreme caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.
