Lake Charles and Westlake, Louisiana - Residents of Lake Charles and Westlake, Louisiana, should be prepared for nightly lane closures on the I-10 Eastbound and Westbound approaches to the Calcasieu River Bridge, starting Monday, October 21, 2024. The closures, announced by the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development, will occur from 7 p.m. until 5 a.m. and will continue through Thursday, October 24, 2024.

The closures, affecting the area between Mile Marker 25.0 and Mile Marker 30.5, are necessary for pavement evaluations. Pavement evaluations involve a thorough assessment of the road surface to identify any damage or deterioration, which helps the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development determine the need for maintenance or repairs.

Motorists can expect short-term ramp closures in addition to the lane closures. Although the closures are scheduled for nighttime hours, drivers should still exercise caution and plan for potential delays when traveling through the area.
