Homicide Division Officers in Louisiana Arrest Woman Suspected of Fentanyl-Related Death of an Infant

Baton Rouge, Louisiana – Homicide Division officers in Louisiana have arrested a woman suspected of the fentanyl-related death of an infant.

Baton Rouge Police Department has confirmed that officers with the Homicide Division arrested Tiffany Thomason, 40, suspected of  Negligent Homicide in the Death of her son. The East Baton Rouge Coroner’s Office ruled earlier during the week that the death of the infant was the result of a fentanyl overdose.

Authorities indicated that this case was previously being investigated as a co-sleeping death, however, the final toxicology report gave the investigating Detectives the evidence needed to proceed with the charge of Negligent Homicide.

Tiffany Thomason has been booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.

An arrest is an indication that probable cause exists to believe the subject was involved in the offense alleged. A person is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
