Homicide Detectives in Louisiana Investigating Baton Rouge Case After Man Was Shot Multiple Times in a Vehicle

Baton Rouge, Louisiana – Homicide Detectives in Louisiana are investigating a Baton Rouge case after a man was shot multiple times in a vehicle.

The Baton Rouge Police Department’s Homicide Division is currently conducting an active investigation into a tragic incident that occurred on June 26, 2023, at approximately 3:00 pm in the 9800 Block of Ave J. The victim, identified as 53-year-old Derrick Thomas, suffered multiple gunshot wounds while seated inside a vehicle.

Regrettably, Thomas succumbed to his injuries at the scene. BRPD indicated that at present, the motive behind this heinous act and the identity of the perpetrator remain unknown.
