Lake Charles, Louisiana – Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies were called to a business on Goodman Road in Lake Charles, Louisiana on May 6th regarding a burglary.
In the first stages of the investigation, detectives discovered that the suspect had cut through a wire fence to enter the property. Once inside, the suspect proceeded to cut and remove grounding cables that had copper wire.
In an unrelated event, detectives met with Mark A. Villarreal, a 31-year-old homeless man, who confirmed the location of the stolen grounding cables. They were found at a home on Goodman Road in Lake Charles.
Villarreal was taken into custody and brought to the Calcasieu Correctional Center for allegedly possessing stolen property valued between $1,000 and $5,000. Judge Tony Fazzio ordered his bond to be set at $6,500.
The investigation is ongoing.
