Henning Memorial United Methodist Church in Sulphur to Hold a Vigil for Recent Tragedies Around the Country
In the wake of several mass shootings around the country, Henning Memorial United Methodist Church will be holding a community prayer vigil on August 7, 2019 from 6 – 7 p.m.
From Henning Memorial United Metoodist Church:
“Our hearts break with and for the families in California, Texas, and Ohio, and any others who have lost loved ones to the tragedies of mass shootings in recent days. These communities are not far away, but are as close as the heartbeat of human connection that we all share. How can we be the change that we long to see in a world full of hatred, racism, and division? Let us ground ourselves in prayer, for and with one another and our community as we remember and pray for all those affected by these senseless acts of violence.
“He will judge between the nations
and will settle disputes for many peoples.
They will beat their swords into plowshares
and their spears into pruning hooks.
Nation will not take up sword against nation,
nor will they train for war anymore.” – Isaiah 2:4″
