Head-On Crash in Louisiana on US 190 Leaves Unrestrained Driver and Passenger Dead and Another Seriously Injured

Louisiana – According to the Louisiana State Police, troopers from LSP Troop L responded to a deadly two-vehicle head-on collision on US 190 near Dresden Dr. in St. Tammany Parish at about 3:00 am on Sunday, July 10th, 2022. Residents of Lacombe, Louisiana, Shaunna Bickham, 33, and Bernard Palmer, 58, lost their lives in the collision.

Bickham was operating a 2011 Nissan Altima west on US 190, according to the results of the initial inquiry by the Troopers. Palmer was seated as the front passenger. According to witness accounts, Bickham joined the eastbound lane in an effort to pass another car. Bickham’s car collided head on with a 2017 Infiniti Q50 after moving into the eastbound lane.

Bickham and Palmer were unrestrained and died in the crash. Both were pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Infiniti was securely restrained but suffered serious injuries. She was sent to a local hospital for treatment. Blood samples from both drivers will be obtained for toxicological screening as part of the continuing investigation.
