Freezing Conditions Prompt Calcasieu Parish School Closures and Sports Event Cancellations

Calcasieu Parish, Louisiana - The Calcasieu Parish School Board has declared the closure of all schools and facilities for tomorrow, Tuesday, January 16, due to the potential impact of freezing precipitation on road conditions. Additionally, all sporting events scheduled for the day have been called off.

However, based on the latest weather forecasts indicating no further precipitation after tomorrow, normal operations are expected to resume on Wednesday, January 17.

CPSB indicated that an update will be provided tomorrow.
