Free Rural Area Medical (RAM) Event in Lake Charles on November 13 and 14, 2020

Free Rural Area Medical (RAM) Event in Lake Charles on November 13 and 14, 2020

Published November 11, 2020

Remote Area Medical (RAM) will be hosting a free medical event at the Lake Charles Civic Center on November 13 and 14, 2020.

All services are free and the event is open to the public.

Dental, medical, and vision services are provided on a first-come, first-serve basis. Due to time constraints, be prepared to choose between dental and vision services, as there might not be enough time for one patient to receive both. Medical services are offered to every patient attending the clinic.

Patients will be able to get free glasses made on-site for anyone who has a valid prescription dated within the last year.

The patient parking lot for the Remote Area Medical (RAM) event at the Lake Charles Civic Center will open no later than 12:01 am (midnight) on Friday, November 13, 2020. As patients arrive at the parking lot, they will be provided with additional information regarding clinic opening processes and the next steps. Clinic doors open at 6 am.

All patients will be required to wear a face-covering and must undergo a COVID-19 screening before entering the clinic.

This process will repeat on Saturday, November 14, 2020

In some situations, such as inclement weather, volunteer cancellations, or other circumstances outside of RAM’s control, the parking lot opening patient check-in may occur earlier. RAM encourages everyone who would like services, especially dental services, to arrive as early as possible.

The above details are subject to change.
