Free Fishing Fun in the Park Event to Be Held April 1 in Lake Charles

Lake Charles, Louisiana – The Free Fishing Fun in the Park Event will be held on April 1 in Lake Charles.

The City of Lake Charles has announced that the Partners in Parks Initiative and Project Build a Future will collaborate with the Southwest Louisiana Master Naturalists, Calcasieu Parish Public Library, and Contraband Fly Casters for a Fishing for Fun in the Park Event on Saturday, April 1, 2023, from 9:30 a.m. until  11 a.m. This free, interactive event will take place at Riverside Park, 1701 Fitzenreiter Road.

Attendees will be able to get hands-on fishing lessons and learn more about the fish and other native species that live in Riverside Park and the Calcasieu River. This event will be enjoyable for the entire family thanks to games, prizes, refreshments, and other activities.

This event is free and open to the public.
