Four Suspects Arrested in Three Homicide Investigations in Louisiana by Violent Offender Warrant Squad and US Marshals
New Orleans, Louisiana – Four suspects have been arrested by the Violent Offender Warrant Squad and US Marshals in connection with three homicide investigations in Louisiana.
The New Orleans Police Department (NOPD) confirmed on May 11, 2023, that on May 10, the Violent Offender Warrant Squad (VOWS) and the United States Marshals apprehended three suspects in connection with two different homicides in March and April of 2023.
Chante Mark, 23, and Brandon Ferdinand, 18, were arrested in connection with the March 28, 2023, shooting in the 8700 block of Almonaster Ave.
Darron Meilleur, 18, was recognized as the victim.
Mark and Ferdinand were arrested and brought to the Orleans Justice Center on second-degree murder charges.
On May 10, 2023, NOPD VOWS members and US Marshals captured Irvin Allen, 28, in connection with the shooting death of Shawn Simms, a 16-year-old boy. Simms was murdered on April 20, 2023, in the 7000 block of Lawrence Road. Allen was apprehended near the scene of the incident.
Allen has been charged with second-degree murder and is being held at the Orleans Justice Center.
On May 3, 2023, members of the VOWS unit and US Marshals captured Charles Wade, 38, in connection with Eric Cox’s shooting death. Wade is charged with second-degree murder as well as aggravated battery for wounding another person in the 2900 block of Oliver White Street on April 9, 2023.
Wade was also booked into the Orleans Criminal Justice Center.
An arrest is an indication that probable cause exists to believe the subject was involved in the offense alleged. All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
