Four Suspects Arrested in Louisiana for Alleged Commercial Fishing Violations

Louisiana – The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries reported on November 7, 2022, that enforcement agents arrested four Simmesport, Louisiana persons on October 20 in Avoyelles and Pointe Coupee parishes for alleged commercial fishing infractions.

Allen P. Kimble, 56, was arrested for filing or maintaining false public records and criminal conspiracy in Avoyelles and Pointe Coupee parishes.

Samantha R. Kimble, 27, was arrested for criminal conspiracy in Avoyelles and Pointe Coupee parishes.

Danny E. Laprairie, 66, was arrested for filing or maintaining false public records and criminal conspiracy in Pointe Coupee Parish.

Clyde J. Dufour, 65, was arrested for filing or maintaining false public records and criminal conspiracy in Avoyelles Parish.

LDWF reported that a few months before the arrests, agents began an investigation into illegal fish sales. Agents discovered that Allen Kimble was deliberately catching and selling fish to Laprairie in Pointe Coupee Parish and Dufour in Avoyelles Parish while using Samantha Kimble’s commercial fishing license.

Agents acquired arrest warrants for these violations on October 19, and the four individuals were apprehended and brought into jail on October 20.

Filing or maintaining false public records can result in a $5,000 fine and up to five years in prison. The court determines criminal conspiracy penalties.

Lt. David Boudreaux, Sgt. Allan Marbury, Corporal Luke Langley, Agent Jamyson Loomis, Agent Dustin Barton, and Corporal Jesse Davis are the agents involved in the case.

An arrest is an indication that probable cause exists to believe the subject was involved in the offense alleged. A person is innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
