Four Louisiana Men Arrested for DWI on the Water July 29 and 30
On August 3, 2022, the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) announced that on July 29 and 30, enforcement agents arrested four persons for allegedly operating or driving a vessel while impaired (DWI) in Lower St. Martin Parish.
According to LDWF, agents arrested Jason Aucoin, 43, of Pierre Part, Louisiana, Michael Myers, 43, of St. Mary, Louisiana, Alvin Breaux, 35, of Pierre Part, Louisiana, and Christian Guitrau, 28, of Pierre Part, Louisiana, for DWI on the water.
On July 29, agents on patrol on the Intracoastal Waterway made contact with Aucoin. Agents interacted with Breaux and Guitrau on the Belle River and Myers on Bayou Magazille on July 30. Agents discovered that all four males were intoxicated while driving a vessel and arrested them for DWI.
The four individuals were all arrested and brought to the Lower St. Martin Parish Jail.
The consequences for DWI are the same as those for driving a car. Anyone arrested for DWI on the water or on the road will lose his or her driver’s license and boating rights for the duration of the case, as directed by the judge. DWI carries a fine of $300 to $1,000 and up to six months in prison.
Sgt. Gerald Sander and Corporal Jeremy Foret are the agents involved in these DWI cases.
