Four From Louisiana Arrested After Police Search Home During Shooting Investigation in Avoyelles Parish

Avoyelles Parish, Louisiana – Four individuals from Louisiana were arrested after police searched a home during a shooting investigation in Avoyelles Parish.

The Avoyelles Parish Sheriff’s Office reported on July 19, 2023, that four days earlier, on July 15, around 12:05 am, they received a call from Avoyelles 911 Communication Center regarding multiple gunshots fired on Cocoville Road near Teska Roy Lane, in Mansura, Louisiana, by unknown assailants. Officers from the Avoyelles Parish Sheriff’s Office promptly responded to the incident report.

A deeper inquiry by the Sheriff’s Office detectives indicated that some of the assailants had parked their vehicle at the Ward 3 Waterworks Parking lot and walked to a nearby residence, where the shooting commenced. The report suggested that multiple shots were exchanged between the shooters and people from a nearby residence, but fortunately, no one was injured.

The investigation conducted by the APSO led to the search of a home in the local area. This search resulted in the arrest of a female for Obstructing Justice, a male for possessing a firearm despite being a convicted felon, and three individuals wanted by the Marksville Police Department due to charges of Armed Robbery and other crimes.

The APSO investigators collected a variety of items from the premises including a military-style semi-automatic rifle, two semi-automatic pistols with extended magazines, a drum magazine for a handgun, ammunition, illicit substances, and laptops belonging to the Avoyelles Parish School Board.

Authorities indicated that more arrests are anticipated as the APSO continues its investigation in an attempt to identify all the shooters involved.

The individuals apprehended in the ongoing investigation include:

Romanda Guillot, a 36-year-old from Mansura, Louisiana accused of obstructing justice.

21-year-old Kwalan D. Guillot from Marksville, Louisiana, who’s facing accusations of principal to armed robbery, principal to carjacking, engaging in a criminal conspiracy, and contributing to a juvenile’s delinquency.

19-year-old Kwavon A. Guillot was charged with armed robbery and possession of a firearm as a previously convicted felon.

Ja’Kwon Guillot, who’s another 19-year-old facing allegations of armed robbery.
