Increased Military Traffic Expected on Highways around Fort Johnson

Louisiana – Representatives from Fort Johnson have issued a notice informing the public about the expected increase in military traffic on several highways in the area. The heightened military presence is scheduled to take place from March 18 to March 29, affecting routes including Highway 171 between Fort Johnson and DeRidder, Highway 27 through Dequincy, and Highway 12 leading into Texas.

Residents and commuters in these areas are advised to stay alert and be mindful of the increased military vehicles on the roads during this period. A key safety reminder emphasized in the notice is to avoid following military vehicles closely. Additionally, drivers are urged to remember that if they cannot see the driver of a military vehicle in their mirrors, the driver may also not have visibility of them.

As the scheduled period approaches, residents are encouraged to plan their travel routes accordingly and exercise patience and caution while sharing the road with the increased military traffic.
