Oakdale, Louisiana - A former City of Oakdale employee and the spouse of the police chief, Alison Doyle, has been arrested following an investigation by the Louisiana State Police Criminal Intelligence Unit - Alexandria Field Office (CIU-AFO). The investigation uncovered evidence that Doyle, age 50, conspired with Chandrakant “LaLa” Patel to manipulate the municipal bidding process for two city-owned properties.
Authorities launched the inquiry after receiving credible information about possible unethical conduct involving Doyle, who is married to Oakdale Police Chief Chad Doyle. The CIU-AFO carried out an extensive review of the case and found enough evidence to substantiate the allegations. Law enforcement concluded that Doyle and Patel conspired to give unfair advantage in the competitive property bid process—a process intended to ensure fairness and transparency when selling public assets.
As a result of the investigation, Alison Doyle was arrested on two felony counts of malfeasance in office and processed at the Allen Parish Sheriff’s Office Jail. Malfeasance in office refers to wrongdoing or misconduct by a public official, often involving abuse of authority or violation of legal obligations.
