Shreveport, Louisiana - This morning, a traffic stop was conducted by an Officer from the Shreveport Police Department on Marquette Avenue in the 2700 block. During the encounter, a male occupant of the vehicle fled, leading to a foot pursuit. The pursuit ended with the subject producing a handgun and shots being fired.

Unfortunately, the subject was struck and later pronounced dead at a local trauma center. No officers were injured in this incident.

The Shreveport Police Department has requested assistance from Louisiana State Police (LSP) to investigate this officer-involved shooting. LSP Investigators are currently working to process the scene and gather additional information.
