Food for Seniors Program in Calcasieu Parish

After being closed due to delivery issues caused by Hurricane Ida, all pickup sites for the Food for Seniors Program’s food box distribution will be open Friday, October 15, 2021.

The Food for Seniors program is to eliminate hunger by providing nourishment and encouragement to senior citizens. This program provides a nutritional food box filled with non-perishable goods and healthy food staples.

Food for Seniors food boxes are available to seniors 60 years and older who meet the Federal Income Guidelines.

Each month, the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury Food for Seniors program holds food box distributions at several different sites throughout Calcasieu Parish.

• Bell City/Hayes Fire Station, 8141 Galley Road, Hayes
• Chateau Du Lac, 333 Mill St., Lake Charles
• DeQuincy Fire Station – City Hall 786-8241, 300 N. Holly St.
• Golden Arms, 1481 Third St., Lake Charles
• Iowa Community Center, 207 W. US 90, Iowa
• Moss Bluff VFW Post #7321, 2668 US 171 & Joe Miller Road, Moss Bluff
• Starks V.F.W. Post #4759, LA 12 West, Starks
• Sulphur Senior Center, 1325 Napoleon St., Sulphur
• Sulphur Retirement Community, 503 Cypress St.
• Tower Oaks, 222 Louie St., Lake Charles
• University Park, 1001 Central Park, Lake Charles
• Vinton Pentecostal Church, 1805 West St.

• Word of Hope Family Worship Center, 3975 East Prien Lake Road, Lake Charles (9-11 a.m. every third Saturday)
