Florida Woman Killed in 2-Vehicle Crash on US 425 in Louisiana

Concordia Parish, Louisiana – A Florida woman was killed in a 2-vehicle crash on US 425 in Louisiana.

Louisiana State Police (LSP) stated on March 9, 2023, that on March 8, 2023, at about 8:00 p.m., LSP Troop E responded to a two-vehicle crash on US 425 at Washington Heights. Tracy L. Sullivan, 52, of Brookville, Florida, was killed in the crash.

The initial investigation found that a 1999 Saturn SL2 driven by Sullivan and a 2013 GMC pickup truck towing a gooseneck utility trailer were traveling southbound on US 425. As the GMC reached a private drive, it began to slow down in preparation for a right turn. Sullivan failed to slow down for unknown reasons and rear-ended the GMC’s trailer.

Sullivan, who was not restrained, suffered severe injuries and died at the scene. The driver of the GMC, who was restrained, was unharmed. Routine toxicological samples were collected and analyzed.

While the reason for this crash is still being investigated, distracted and inattentive driving remains a significant cause of accidents in our state. Louisiana State Police advises all motorists to drive cautiously. A failure in judgment can have fatal repercussions.

Troopers Troop E have investigated 11 fatal crashes so fare in 2023, resulting in 12 fatalities.
