Florida Man Killed in Single-Vehicle Crash After Colliding with a Tree on LA 18

Louisiana – Louisiana State Police reported on November 26, 2022, that on November 25, 2022, soon after 6:30 p.m., Troopers from LSP Troop B responded to a single-vehicle crash on LA 18 (River Road) near Sings Lane in Luling, Louisiana. Dimitrius Titone, 27, of Tampa, Florida, died as a result of the crash.

Titone was driving a 2019 Ford Fusion east on River Road near Sings Lane, according to the preliminary inquiry. Titone failed to navigate a curve in the road and lost control of the Ford, which crashed and collided with a tree for unknown reasons.

Titone suffered fatal injuries despite being securely restrained and was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger in the vehicle was likewise properly restrained; he had minor injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. Titone’s impairment is unknown, and normal toxicological findings are awaited.

Troopers want to urge drivers to always make wise decisions when driving. Never drive while intoxicated, fatigued, or distracted. Obey all traffic laws and make certain that every occupant is securely restrained. While not all car accidents are avoidable, simple precautions like these can frequently mean the difference between life and death.
