Firearm Seized and Driver Arrested in Louisiana After Vehicle Full of Juveniles Flees From Police in Shreveport

Shreveport, Louisiana – A vehicle full of juveniles fleeing from police in Louisiana resulted in a firearm being seized and the driver being arrested in Shreveport.

The Shreveport Police Department reported on May 1, 2023, that on April 29, at about 1:00 a.m., officers saw a suspicious vehicle in a convenience store parking lot in the 6200 block of Pines Road. As officers approached the vehicle, it began to flee erratically. Police gave chase and discovered that the Hyundai automobile had been reported stolen recently.

The vehicle led authorities on a long chase across the city and the Parish. The vehicle eventually came to a halt, and the occupants attempted to flee.
Three juveniles were apprehended, and the driver was charged with Aggravated Flight from an officer and Illegal Possession of a Stolen Vehicle.

The encounter also resulted in the seizure of a firearm.

According to authorities, no injuries were reported.

An arrest is an indication that probable cause exists to believe the subject was involved in the offense alleged. All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
