Fiery Single-Vehicle Crash on LA 384 in Calcasieu Parish Claims Life of Unidentified Driver

Calcasieu Parish, Louisiana - A fiery single-vehicle crash on LA 384 in Calcasieu Parish has claimed the life of an unidentified driver.

In Calcasieu Parish, Louisiana State Police Troop D launched an investigation into a single-vehicle crash that occurred on LA Hwy 384 just south of A. Granger Road on September 3, 2023, prior to 4:00 p.m. Tragically, the crash resulted in the death of the driver, who has yet to be identified.

According to the initial investigation, the driver of a 2008 Nissan Maxima was traveling in a southerly direction on LA 384 when the vehicle veered off the left side of the road. The Nissan went through a ditch and collided with a large utility pole, causing the vehicle to burst into flames.

Despite the efforts of first responders, the unidentified driver sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. It is currently unknown if the driver was wearing a seat belt, as the Nissan sustained significant damage. In addition, a toxicology sample was taken for analysis.

LSP indicated that this crash is still under investigation.

So far in 2023, LSP Troop D has investigated 21 fatal crashes resulting in 23 deaths.
