February 11 Declared Brian Moore Day

February 11 Declared Brian Moore Day
Mayor Nic Hunter has declared February 11 as a day of memorial for Brian Kevin Moore. Brian Moore was from Sulphur and has performed as a solo musician as well as with numerous bands in Southwest Louisiana for more than twenty years. He was well known for his passion for music, his tender heart, smiles, and especially his hugs. In addition to performing regularly, Brian was also widely known as an advocate for arts and entertainment in the area. Brian passed away from natural causes on February 6, 2019.
Jody Taylor, Assistant Director of Banners at McNeese State University said “This is a beautiful memorial, received by Brian’s family, setting aside one day a year to remember how much of a difference one individual can make in so many people’s lives. Thank you to Mayor Hunter and anyone who helped make this happen.”
Jody also mentioned that ideas are being discussed on how we can celebrate this day in years to come.
