Fatal Stabbing at Louisiana Tech University: State Police Now Investigating, Suspect Charged with Second-Degree Murder

Ruston, Louisiana - The Louisiana State Police Bureau of Investigation Monroe Field Office was asked by the Louisiana Tech Police Department to investigate a fatal stabbing incident at Louisiana Tech University's campus.

The attack, which took place on November 13, 2023, left four women wounded, with two sustaining serious injuries. One of the victims passed away on November 14, prompting the LSP to take over the investigation with assistance from Tech PD.

On Monday, a disturbance occurred which led to 23-year-old Jacoby Johnson from Tallulah entering the parking lot of Lambright Health and Wellness Center at LA Tech's campus and allegedly attacking four women with a knife.

The suspect, 23-year-old Jacoby Johnson, has been charged with second-degree murder and three counts of attempted second-degree murder. He is currently in custody at the Lincoln Parish Detention Center without bail.
