Arnaudville, Louisiana – A tragic single-vehicle crash on Louisiana Highway 93 in St. Landry Parish resulted in the death of 72-year-old Joseph Noel of Breaux Bridge, Louisiana on July 14, 2024. The incident occurred shortly after 7:00 a.m. when Troopers with Louisiana State Police Troop I responded to the scene.
According to the preliminary investigation, Noel was driving a 2006 Chrysler 300 northbound on LA 93 when, for reasons still unknown, the vehicle veered off the road to the right and entered a large private pond, becoming fully submerged.
Noel was pronounced deceased at the scene. Standard toxicology samples were collected and submitted for analysis. The crash remains under investigation.
Louisiana State Police Troopers urge motorists to always make responsible decisions while behind the wheel, avoiding behaviors such as impaired, fatigued, or distracted driving. Additionally, drivers should ensure all occupants are properly restrained and adhere to traffic laws.
While not all crashes are survivable, taking these simple precautions can significantly reduce the risk of fatalities.
