Denham Springs, Louisiana - A tragic two-vehicle crash involving a pedestrian occurred shortly before 10 pm on LA 447 near Andrews Road in Livingston Parish on July 10, 2024, resulting in the death of 30-year-old Deasha Doucet of Denham Springs, Louisiana. The incident is currently under investigation by Louisiana State Police Troop A.

According to the preliminary investigation, Doucet was walking south on LA 447, near the center of the southbound lane, when a pickup truck traveling in the same direction struck her. The pickup truck failed to stop and continued south on LA 447, leaving the scene of the crash. A 2021 Kia K5, subsequently struck Doucet. The driver of the Kia stopped to render assistance and called authorities.

Doucet sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the Kia, who was properly restrained, was uninjured.

The Louisiana State Police are working to identify the driver of the pickup truck, which is believed to be a full-size gray or silver Chevrolet of unknown year.
