Explosion and Fire Reported Near the Corner of Nelson Rd and West McNeese St in Lake Charles

We have received reports that there was an explosion at or near Stine Home & Yard located at the corner of Nelson Road and West McNeese Street in Lake Charles. Lake Charles Police Department has asked citizens to avoid the area until at least 5 PM due to fire and hazardous conditions.
Update March 15, 2020, 5:09 PM – A hazmat team has been called to Stine Home & Yard on Nelson Road. Information about what happened was still not available at the time of this update.
