Youngsville, Louisiana - On Wednesday, June 11, 2025, Louisiana State Police Troop I began investigating a fatal two-vehicle crash involving a motorcycle on Louisiana Highway 339, near its intersection with Simon Road. The incident resulted in the death of 42-year-old Dustin Ayo of Thibodaux, Louisiana. A preliminary investigation indicated that a 2013 Nissan Sentra was traveling north on LA Hwy 339 while Ayo's 2025 Suzuki Motorcycle was heading south at a high speed. For reasons still under investigation, the Nissan attempted to turn left onto Simon Road, entering the path of the oncoming motorcycle, which subsequently collided with the Nissan.

Ayo, who was wearing a Department of Transportation (DOT)-approved helmet, suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the Nissan, properly restrained, sustained moderate injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Routine toxicology samples were collected and submitted for analysis. This crash remains under investigation.

State Police emphasize the importance of safe driving practices, noting that excessive speed can significantly decrease reaction time, increase stopping distance, and heighten the risk of losing control. Additionally, they encourage residents to take advantage of motorcycle operator training courses offered by the Department of Public Safety, which range from beginner to advanced levels.
