Ex-Employee of Louisiana Business Arrested For Allegedly Stealing More Than $30k Worth of Tools and Equipment
West Baton Rouge Parish, Louisiana – An ex-employee of a Louisiana business has been arrested for allegedly stealing more than $30,000 worth of tools and equipment.
Sheriff Mike Cazes with the West Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest of Aaron Ballard, 43, of Denham Springs, Louisiana, on April 18, 2023. He has been charged in connection with a burglary at the business Kent Environmental. Aaron Ballard, a former Kent Environmental employee, is suspected of breaking into the company, deactivating the security systems, and taking tools and equipment worth around $31,000.
The Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at Aaron Ballard’s home in Livingston Parish at the request of the West Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office, where they reportedly caught Aaron Ballard attempting to remove the markings off of a stolen U-Haul trailer.
A substantial amount of Kent Environmental’s tools and equipment were reportedly recovered from Aaron Ballard’s property by the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office. Aaron Ballard is now being held at the Livingston Parish Detention Center and will be moved to the West Baton Rouge Parish Detention Center to be charged with simple burglary.
Authorities indicated that this investigation is still ongoing.
An arrest is an indication that probable cause exists to believe the subject was involved in the offense alleged. A person is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
