Lake Charles, Louisiana – Lake Charles and Southwest Louisiana are set to host a variety of events from February 7 to February 9, offering residents and visitors a range of activities to enjoy. Whether you are interested in art, music, or local markets, there is something for everyone during this busy weekend.

On February 7, the Cameron Prairie Visitor Center will host an informative session titled “Invasive Species 101” at 6:30 PM. This event aims to educate attendees about the impact of non-native species on local ecosystems, an important topic for environmental awareness.

Art enthusiasts can attend the opening reception of “Praise: Is What I Do” at the Black Heritage Gallery, which will run from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM. The gallery will also showcase a McNeese Student Art Association exhibit at City Hall from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Additionally, the Henning Cultural Center will be open from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM on weekdays and from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM on Saturdays, offering visitors a chance to explore various artistic displays.

For music lovers, the evening will feature live performances at various venues. Paul Piazza will be playing at Tia Juanita’s Fish Camp from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM, while Buffi’s Peaux Boys will host weekend entertainment from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Other options include live music at The Max Restaurant and Paul’s Rib Shack Barbecue, both scheduled for 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM. For those looking to dance, Cajun’s Wharf Grill & Bar will showcase some of the hottest DJs in the area.

February 8 will offer a local author launch party for Jaylon J. Martin at the Brickhouse Catering & Events from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM. In addition, the Charlestown Farmers Market will take place in downtown Lake Charles from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, providing an opportunity for residents to purchase fresh produce and handmade goods.

On February 9, Yoga Y’all will host a Community Yin Yoga session from 2:00 PM to 6:40 PM, promoting relaxation and mindfulness. Sports fans can celebrate Super Bowl LIX at The M Bar Sports Bar & Grill, which will be hosting a watch party from 12:00 PM to 10:00 PM. The Panorama Music House will also feature a Pajama Jam Open Mic event from 8:00 PM to 11:00 PM, welcoming performers of all skill levels.

Finally, brunch enthusiasts can enjoy the Sunday Fun Day Zydeco Brunch at Rikenjaks from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM, or attend the Sunday Jazz Brunch at Luna Bar & Grill Downtown from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Tia Juanita’s Fish Camp will also host its own Sunday Jazz Brunch from 10:30 AM to 3:00 PM.

As the weekend approaches, residents and visitors are encouraged to partake in these diverse activities that highlight the vibrant culture and community spirit of Lake Charles and Southwest Louisiana.
