LA 27 Northbound Lane at Ellender Bridge to be Closed for Grid Deck Replacement

Calcasieu Parish, Louisiana – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) has announced that the northbound lane of LA 27 at Ellender Bridge in Calcasieu Parish will be closed on Monday, February 12, 2024, and from Wednesday, February 14, 2024, through Friday, February 16, 2024. These closures will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. daily.

The closure is necessary for crews to perform grid deck replacement, ensuring the safety and longevity of the bridge. During the closures, flaggers will be present to maintain traffic flow across Ellender Bridge in both the northbound and southbound directions.

Ellender Bridge, located at Mile Marker 72, is an important transportation route for both commuters and commercial vehicles. The grid deck replacement is part of the DOTD’s ongoing efforts to maintain and improve the state’s infrastructure.

Motorists are advised to plan their routes accordingly and to expect delays during the closure hours. Alternate routes should be considered.
