Early Morning Crash on LA 135 Claims the Life of Unrestrained Louisiana Teen
Louisiana – Louisiana State Police stated on September 17, 2022, that shortly after 12:45 a.m., LSP Troop F began investigating a one-vehicle fatality crash on Louisiana Highway 135, south of J.J. Hatton Road. Hunter Z. Graham, 18, of Winnsboro, Louisiana, who was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, was killed.
Graham was driving a 1998 Chevrolet Silverado south on Louisiana Highway 135, according to preliminary investigations. Graham’s vehicle exited the pavement and overturned for reasons that are still being investigated.
Graham was declared dead by the Franklin Parish Coroner’s Office. Although there is no evidence of impairment, regular toxicological samples were collected and submitted for investigation. The crash is still being investigated.
Buckling up is the most effective method to protect yourself during a vehicle crash, according to troopers. Failure to buckle up for a few seconds might have disastrous effects. Every individual in a vehicle, regardless of seating position, is required by Louisiana law to be properly restrained at all times.
Troop F has investigated 21 fatal crashes so far in 2022, resulting in 25 fatalities.
